About InfoNorway

InfoNorway started in 1996 as a collection of links to web pages with English language information about Norway. It's purpose was then, as it is today, to help foreigners interested in Norway to find their way around the net by sorting and organizing the available information, filtering out trash and highlighting quality pages.

When InfoNorway started, it had a handful of visitors every day. Today it has about a thousand unique visitors every day and a million page views every year, which makes it one of the most frequently visited web sites for people looking for information about Norway in English.

Back in 1996 there were less than hundred Norway related sites on the web. Today there are thousands. As a consequence, InfoNorway has grown, and the links have been grouped together to ease browsing. A search function has been added to find information quickly.

When using the Search function, please keep your search terms short. One or two words will normally do.

Next to the Search function and its associated search button, there is a help button with general help and a random picture button that displays random Norway related pictures. In addition to these buttons there is a row with an About button, which you have already pressed, and four other buttons. They are:

• Links : brings you to the link collection. This is where you can browse your way to the Norway related information you are looking for.
• Contact : lets you contact Fredrik Nygaard, the owner and webmaster of InfoNorway. You can submit URLs, get Norway related material published on the web, ask for a short translations or get general help.
• Blog : where the webmaster writes about recent changes to InfoNorway. Return visitors may find this page useful.
• Sponsor : where you can buy advertisement at InfoNorway.

InfoNorway is a registered privately held company and is in good financial health, mainly because the owner derives most of his income from his consultancy services and other business activities. InfoNorway is in other word a pet project and a hobby. Its primary purpose is not to make money, but to be useful.
